Photographer: Rosie Hardy

Rosie Hardy is a British, Conceptual portrait artist based in Manchester. She is both a portrait, wedding and fashion photographer however concentrates on conceptual pieces which each tell a story. She has also photographed well known faces and album covers for the likes of Maroon 5, The 1975, Helen Flanagan and Rixton.

I like this artist because of the way she captures and presents her images in a way that make them somewhat realistic looking however have strong stories behind them. The first image represents taking steps towards achieving goals. In this instance there is a girl holding a guitar (wanting to be a musician) looking towards a ladder. For me this represent the steps to becoming successful and the climb you have to make by putting in hard work to achieve your way to the top.

The bottom photograph on this post is called 'A long way home'. Rosie came up with the idea for this image whilst having struggles in her own personal life. The image is representing an astronaught who is held down to the ground by gravity but has has soul set on adventuring elsewhere. For me the bus stop represents travel and the darkness represents space. The photographer talk about her feelings of thinking about who she was and what her purpose is and if where she is right now is where she's meant to be, so in a way this image reflects those thoughts and she has imagined it as if she was a astronaught drifting between where they're supposed to be (on earth) and exploring their potential elsewhere (space). She says: 'On his journey, it's a long way down - but an even longer way home.'
