Anita Anti is a Ukrainian Photographer based is new york. Her work bases itself around mystical worlds with a fashion edge. These photographs here are all passed upon fairytale stories which were animated by Disney. The Photographs have a much more subtle edge to than the bright vibrant colours of disney films. However i feel they all have qualities in they which allow you to recognise the stories they are trying to present. For example the photograph of the girl with the white rabbit coincides with the white rabbit and blonde haired girl in Alice in Wonderland. The Turquoise skirt dipped into the water and the glowing red hair is very similar to the tail of the princess Ariel in The Little Mermaid. And finally the long braided hair and window ledge of another photograph is very similar to the descriptions of the princess Repunzel.
I feel this work is trying to represent the idea of surreal worlds and princesses through imagery but has given the impression of a more grown up version with a fashion edge. I like how subtle the work is as it is kept quite natural and all of the clothing used is not too over the top. I like the soft tones in this photographers work as it add a bit of a more dreamy edge to it.
